I'm pretty sure the seal on this is a fake. It's readily flaking off, unlike on known genuine cels. There's a rash of these; I'll be posting two more of them; I have no reason to doubt the cels themselves are real (plenty of material from this particular episode has leaked out over the years); I suspect someone just tried to pump up the resale value of this group of cels. The seller claims to have not done it (himself); I encouraged (him) to avoid such fake marks in the future, as I for one am willing to pay less than I would for an unmarked cel than a falsely marked one. I have bid in keeping with this; if you see marked but backgroundless (or wrong backgrounded) DC animated cels with no specifically numbered certificate of authenticity from WB or its official licensees, I suggest you discount your bids accordingly.
Also, my scanner had trouble picking up the shading of the grays and blacks properly in the cel (a problem with Batman and Ace). I should probably try again with a dark background.
