There was an ugly move in the '60s to the '80s to colorize black and white cartoons. Studios figured we were more likely to ignore a cartoon for not having color than for being drawn like crap because it was traced from a pre-existing cartoon and colored in overworked assembly line production style with really bad background recreations and odd colors (at least the ones that show up here, where cels were made). These are mostly Warner Brothers and Fleischer Brothers cartoons that were reworked, thosome other things like some Ub Iwerks cartoons show up too (including things that had been made in two strip technicolor in the first place).
